Following the overwhelming support and feedback for Derby and her new state-of-the-art prosthetics, we’re excited to announce that within the month Animal Orthocare LLC will have full 3D-printing abilities.
Thanks to a generous donation from one of our clients, we are planning to purchase a scanner and software that will enable us to design limitless styles of prosthetic and orthotic devices, allowing us to treat patients that were previously deemed untreatable.
And we will be the first and only veterinary orthotics and prosthetics company to provide this all-encompassing technology.
We can’t overstate the flexibility and efficiency this new process offers. Thanks to the new, cutting-edge software, we’ll be able to:
- Design and print from an MRI
- Offer even the smallest patients quality prosthetics
- Use lighter weight materials
- Reprint devices as needed
- Manufacture devices faster than ever
In short, the new technology will enable us to treat more patients, more quickly and at a lower cost than ever before.
From a design perspective, we’ll now be able to create the braces we’ve always dreamed about, but couldn’t because of the limitations of current technology.
We envision using the new software and scanner for almost every patient we see here at Animal Orthocare.
And, once more veterinary facilities have 3D printers of their own, we will be able to email the predesigned rosthetics where they will be able to print them on site.
We already have a patient lined up to try out our new process – Suzee The Princess, an apricot miniature poodle who lost one of her front legs to cancerous tumors. Check out our Facebook page for updates on Suzee’s progress.
